Events for Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship students in my courses are always asking about more ways to meet up with practicing entrepreneurs and to get involved with the Philly Startup scene. With their help, I have created this resource to make it easy to find events and resources called TopEntrepreneurinPhiladelphia.com If you're an entrepreneur, founder, or starter looking to connect with other like-minded individuals, there are a number of events in Philadelphia that you should check out. Here are a few of my favorites with events coming up this Fall:

  • 1 Million Cups: Every Wednesday, 1 Million Cups provides a supportive, inclusive space for entrepreneurs and their communities to gather and connect, where they can work through business challenges and identify opportunities.1 Million cups has meetups the third Wednesday of each month at 9 AM.

  • The Venture Café Philadelphia: The Venture Café Philadelphia is a community and workspace for entrepreneurs, innovators, and creatives. The Venture Café hosts a variety of events, including weekly Startup Digests, monthly Innovation Nights, and quarterly Venture Café Conversations. There are Venture Cafe’ Meetups at the Science center on Thursdays from 4-8 PM every week starting September 7

  • Atechup.com sponsors fee-based hack-a-thons ($99) every Thursday from 1-5 PM.

  • Book a tour of the CIC Philadelphia shared workspaces and labs, by appointment. Even if you aren’t in need of a shared workspace or lab, this can be a good way to see how some Philly Startups are leveraging collaborative and shared spaces to support and advance their ventures.

  • EO (Entrepreneurs Organization) has an event scheduled for members - Pickleball Palooza: Clinic, Round Robin, & Social Gathering on September 14 from 3-5 PM in West Chester, PA.

  • MCWEN (Minority Christian Women Entrepreneurs Network) has monthly meetups with the next one in Philly on September 19 at 6:30 PM.

  • PACT (Philadelphia Alliance for Capital & Technology) has several events this Fall including:

    • Technical Executive Roundtable Series: Disruptions and Transformation in Tech September 19 at 8:30-10:30 AM

    • PACT Tech Series meet-up on Sept 22 at 8:30-10:30 AM

    • PACT MId-Atlantic Capital Conference Nov 8-9

  • StartupFest 2023 at the Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship (Drexel University) on November 2 from 9 AM - 6 PM. This year’s Keynote is no-code maker and social media influencer, Max Mihro, Founder of Make with Max (https://makewithmax.com/)

These are just a few of the many events that are available to entrepreneurs and founders in Philadelphia.
